What Vegetables to Plant in October

Wow already well into Spring, how this year is moving by. Spring time in south east queensland is my favourite season in the vegetable patch, everything grows so well and it's not too hot. Here are my things to plant for October for your veggie garden. My tips are for Sub-Tropical Climates in the Southern Hemisphere (Australian East Coast from Coffs Harbour up to Rockhampton).

Vegetables

  • Capsicum
  • Cucumber
  • Eggplant
  • French Beans
  • Lettuce
  • Pumpkin
  • Radish
  • Spring Onion
  • Tomato
  • Zucchini
  • Potatoes
  • Rocket
  • Rockmelon
  • Watermelon
  • Sweet Corn
  • Carrots
  • Chilli
  • Sweet Potato
  • Turnips
  • Swedes

Herbs

  • Basil
  • Coriander
  • Oregano

Just for fun

  • Sunflowers
  • Luffa
Again, spring time offers loads of choices, so if space is of the essence only plant what you'll eat :) What are you planting this Spring?
